Summary
1. Proof of legality: The action to be taken is legal.
2. Cost-benefit test: How does the cost-benefit relationship of
the decision you intend to undertake consider the utilitarian
perspective (seeking the greatest good for the greatest
number of people).
3. Categorical Imperative Test: You agree that the decision
you are about to undertake is considered a universal rule.
4. “Daylight” test: What would happen if the action you intend
to take appeared on television, would you be proud of that
decision?
5. Proof of doing the same to others (golden rule): I would
agree if that decision was made in the event that you could be
affected by it.
6. “Ventilation” test: Seek a second opinion with people who
know about the issue you are addressing, use as a selection
criteria that the person giving you the opinion does not have
conflicts of interest with the case or the issue.
