The diversity of non-native heritage is rich for tourism in Algeria

Abstract:
The present paper aims at introducing the immaterial cultural heritage in Algeria and discovering
its potential, diversity, richness and originality. It also attempts to show how to exploit this
cultural heritage in the development of the tourism industry in Algeria, especially cultural
tourism. This study shows that the immaterial cultural heritage in Algeria is characterized by
diversity and richness at the national level, with its specificity from one region to another.
However, this cultural repertoire suffers from extinction and successive lack of interest. This
makes communication between generations and revival of the relationship between culture and
tourism difficult.
