Business Leadership Questions

1. What are team structures? What are the primary goals of team structures?
Team structures refer to the different ways in which individuals are organized within a group to
achieve a common goal. These structures can be formal or informal and can take various forms,
such as functional, cross-functional, self-managed, or virtual teams.

The main objectives of team structures are to increase efficiency, cooperation, and
communication among team members in order to accomplish a shared goal or aim. Team
structures may facilitate the dismantling of silos, the encouragement of innovation and
creativity, and the improvement of problem-solving skills by utilizing the skills, knowledge, and
expertise of each team member.
2. What is the biggest disadvantage of using teams?
Using teams has a number of drawbacks, but one of the largest is the possibility of
interpersonal conflict. There is a chance that misunderstandings, disputes, and tensions may
develop when people with various backgrounds, viewpoints, and working styles work together.
If the issue is not successfully handled, this might result in decreased productivity, poorer team
morale, and even project failure.

3. Explain the differences between the traditional structures and the network structures.
The way information moves through the organisation in traditional and network architecture
differs significantly. In a conventional organisation, information is frequently sent from the top
down, with senior management making choices and then informing lower-level staff of them. In
contrast, network arrangements are typically more decentralised, allowing for more open flow
of information among team members and more equal distribution of decision-making authority
throughout the business.

4. What are the advantages of network structures? What is a potential problem with
network structures?
One individual may run a whole company thanks to network arrangements. The computer
network is one of the network structure's possible issues. The firm might not survive if the
computer system fails.

5. Explain what boundaryless organizations are. Why are they so creative?

Team structures and network structures can be combined to form a boundaryless organisation.
Functional structures, geographic divisions, hierarchies, and even office cubicles, which in the
past divided workers, have all been eliminated under this organisational structure. The
boundaryless company is inventive and always searching for new ways to solve issues, with
experienced professionals keeping an eye on market data, trends, and evolving expectations.
