During my investigation of current professional learning networks (PLNs) in my school and

school district, I contacted Mrs. Erin Rehberg, Director of Digital Learning & Media Services.
She informed me that the only PLNs in the district are currently among our current DLS and
media specialists. She stated that the group meets at least quarterly to share ideas. Mrs. Rehberg
knows that I am currently working toward becoming a media specialist, so she informed me of a
national PLN, the “Future Ready Librarians” Facebook group. The group is private, and my
membership is pending. She also informed me of #techtalkGA on Twitter, which I also joined.
There are no current PLNs at my school; however, I am currently a member of the Southwest
Georgia Pre-K Teachers Facebook group. This is a private group that has 163 members that,
consist of Pre-K teachers and school administrators from my school and other schools in
Georgia. This group was created at the beginning of the pandemic by Nicki Underwood, Quality
Support Specialist for Georgia’s Pre-K Program. Ms. Underwood is the Quality Support
Specialist for my school. I have not been an active participant in this group for over a year. As a
lead Pre-K teacher, I feel it is important that I become more active in this group and help
improve the knowledge of other Pre-K teachers with the use of technology in a Pre-K classroom.
