Things I love

There’s a lot of stuff that I love in general, but these things take the cake for me!
First of all, there is music. I start my day with music and finish it the same way.
Whenever I do something that needs to be done, listening to music helps me focus and
concentrate. It also helps me sleep when I feel restless, it just calms me down. My favorite
genres are rap, hip-hop, and k-pop! My favorite band is BTS, and I’ve been listening to them
since 2013! I’ve watched them grow, and I’m so proud of them for how far they’ve come.
Another thing that I absolutely adore is psychology! How the human mind works,
what makes people behave a certain way, is it nature or nurture? I initially wanted to major in
Psychology, but I didn’t get high enough scores at the baccalaureate. I love reading books and
watching documentaries based on this subject, and I love learning new things about the
conscious and subconscious mind. I wanted to become a psychologist when I was little, and I
always loved helping people with their issues.
People always tell me that I’m a good listener and they confine in me, and even
though sometimes it drains me when I deal with other people’s problems, I’m also glad that
they have someone to support and comfort them when they need it most. I’ll have to settle
with the fact that I probably won’t become a licensed psychologist, but at least I can still help
people with my knowledge in this field.
Now, this next thing is very interesting for me. And that is technology, of course!
Since I got my first computer when I was only 6 years old, I fell in love with all things
regarding technology – from how computers work to the inner workings of a website to even
Artificial Intelligence, all of these are so interesting to me and one day I hope to be able to
work in a field related to this! Personally, I’d love to be able to land a programming job, but I
still need some more practice before I’m able to even apply for an internship.
I’m currently learning JavaScript and Python, which are pretty easy programming
languages. The hardest thing to learn is the syntax and how to think like a programmer, in my
opinion. If you master these two things, everything else will fall into place. I feel like I’m
good at both of these things, but I still need to practice more.
Another very, very fascinating thing for me is astronomy. Since I was little, I always
adored looking up at the sky and wondering to myself “How did this all come to be?”. Since
then, I started looking for answers. However, every answer led me to another question! I
loved this! There were so many different terminologies and theories, which were very
captivating to me personally.
How black holes are created, how the sun will disappear, what is the fate of our
universe… with all of this knowledge, I gained a new perspective of life – that nothing
matters – in the best way! The Universe just doesn’t care about any of us. There’s no Karma,
no nothing. There was a quote that once scared me, but now it brings me comfort: “The world
isn’t cruel, it just doesn’t care”. Also, there are no beginning or ends, there are only
transitions into something else.

In conclusion, there are a lot of stuff that I love and that interest me, and these things
make me happy, which – in my opinion – is the most important thing. Even if some of them
are less popular and viewed as nerdy, I still want to openly show my love for what I care
about.
