STRUCTURE OF ACTIVE SENTENCE

Subject —> Verb —> Object

Verb: Main Verb or Helping verb / only verb ‘do’ is invisible

TO CHANGE FROM ACTIVE TO PASSIVE

1. Identify the part of speech

2. Delete the subject from the sentence.

3. helping verb should match the object ( whether it was plural or singular )
helping verb SHOULD NOT be changed

4. Apply verb to be & main verb changed to 3rd form


( ex: driven is 3rd form of drive )

5. Keep the tenses the SAME

ex:

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

Ritaj is studying English now. ( active )


English is being studied now by Ritaj. ( passive )

PRESENT SIMPLE

Ritaj studies English every day. ( active )


English is studied every day by Ritaj. ( passive )

FUTURE SIMPLE

She will drive her car tomorrow. ( active )


The car will be driven by her tomorrow. ( passive )

FUTURE PERFECT

She will have driven her car tomorrow. ( active )


The car will have been driven tomorrow. ( passive )
PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS

He has been playing soccer since he was seven. ( active )


Soccer has been being played by him since he was seven. ( passive )
