QUESTION 1
For the signal set si(t), i = 1,2,3, shown in the figure below, answer the following:
(a) Find the orthonormal basis functions for the signals.
(b) Represent the signals in the signal-space diagram. [3+2]

QUESTION 2
A digital communication system transmits the following binary signals:
s1(t) = P(t) and s2(t) = -P(t). The waveform of P(t) is given as,

(a) Sketch the impulse response of the matched filter for this system.
(b) Sketch the output of the matched filter for the signals s1(t) and s2(t). [3+2]

QUESTION 3
Discuss the working principle of Adaptive Delta Modulation with a suitable block diagram and its
advantage over Delta Modulation. [5]
