Research Dissemination

Research aims at introducing new evidence or providing further evidence to support a

hypothesis. Therefore, research is only useful and important when it is well communicated to

the required stakeholders. According to McBride (2016), the goal of evidence dissemination

is to communicate findings to the relevant stakeholders. In modern nursing practice, heath

care providers are required to deliver evidence-based care to meet the specific healthcare and

patient needs. Therefore, they must have access to the current evidence on the best treatment

strategy for a specific health issue. For instance, in the prevention of chronic conditions,

healthcare providers must develop plans aimed at equipping communities with knowledge

and strategies to prevent the specified conditions.

For instance, in diabetes management and prevention, healthcare providers must base

the management and prevention strategies on current evidence. The use of physical exercise

and dietary changes must be supported by existing evidence. Such a need makes

dissemination of evidence an important part in supporting clinical practices by healthcare

professionals. According to Schwabish (2019), a research must identify the most appropriate

way of disseminating a research to ensure objectivity. For healthcare providers

(stakeholders), the most appropriate strategy for disseminating evidence is through a

professional report that outlines recommendations and supporting evidence. Healthcare

professionals can use the evidence to support their choice of treatment or approach to teh care

process.
