INTRODUCTION

The English language is important in almost every aspect of our lives. Being able to
communicate is a fundamental life skill that benefits all of us. Furthermore, being able to
communicate effectively is an extremely important skill that can help us in all aspects of life.
Communication is one of the most important life skills for students to master: they must be able
to communicate effectively at all levels of education. Students who lack well-developed
communication skills risk falling behind their peers, becoming emotionally overwhelmed, or
even withdrawing from school.

Today, English is one of the Philippines' official languages, and it remains an important part of
local life and culture. Filipino English proficiency fuels a thriving, world-leading outsourcing
industry, as well as a rapidly expanding education sector that is attracting an increasing number
of international students. English is the international language of business, science, technology,
government, education, and communication. As a result, it is critical for STEM students to
improve their English communicative skills in order to gain a better understanding of their path
to success.

STEM students would simply be unable to convey their thoughts, findings, and
recommendations in a way that would persuade others to support them if they were unable to
write well. To put it succinctly, your ideas are only as valuable as how well others understand
them. It is now clear that students who want to pursue careers in science, technology,
engineering, or mathematics should prioritize their English classes. They are the entry point for
developing essential skills that will fuel the metaphorical car to the halls of STEM fame.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to evaluate the importance of English communicative skills towards STEM
students in STI college Balayan. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

1. What are the advantages of English communicative skills for STEM students in STI
College Balayan?
2. How do English communicative skills help STEM students of STI College Balayan in
improving their academic performances?
3. Does English communicative skills help STEM students of STI College Balayan in
pursuing university colleges in the future?
