1.1 <MAIN TITLE>

Survey is an efficient way of collecting information from a large number of

respondents. Very large samplings are possible. Statistical techniques can be used
to determine validity, reliability, and statistical significance. There is an economy
in data collection due to the focus provided by standardized questions. Survey is
flexible in the sense that a wide range of information can be collected. They can
be used to study attributes, values, beliefs, and past behaviors. Only questions of
interest to the researcher are asked, recorded, codified, and analyzed. Time and
money is not spent on tangential questions. They can be administered from remote
locations using mail, email or telephone.

FEATURES:
 Surveys are useful in describing the characteristics of a large
population. No other method of observation can provide this general
capability.
 Consequently, very large samples are feasible, making the results
statistically significant even when analyzing multiple variables.
 A large area can be covered under survey in the available time and
money.
 As in sample study few units are to be examined detailed study of the
survey can be done.
 As few units are to be examined the survey work requires less time.
Thus in this way sample survey saves time.
 As few units are to be examined the survey work requires less money.
Thus in this way sample survey saves lots of money.

1.2 <MAIN TITLE>

The purpose of this survey is to collect and establish actual data about interests regarding
miniature gaming and conventions. Anyone can refer to this data for any purpose, but we
imagine it will be used by gamers and vendors and conventioneers to support claims and
statements, at least better than they are being supported now (which is zero apparently),
because claims and statements cannot be made because no one has published data.

We are doing this quite simply because as far as we can find, no one has done this to any
great degree, or at least, as much as this survey will attempt. It has nothing to do with our
services and products other than giving us some idea about who we, as gamers and
vendors, are and what we want.

The data is being published on this site after processing in Microsoft Excel. There's
nothing fancy about the collection process; nothing like CGI scripting or forms
processing or anything else. The data is being emailed to us and we fill in the master
spreadsheet. It cost us nothing but times to do this, which is why we didn't pay some
service to do it for us.

The fact is anyone can view the charts and draw their own conclusions; that's the purpose.
Black and white answers are just not possible. Any conclusions should simply bear in
mind the data is more a map of the Earth than map of your neighborhood.

1.2.1

1. To test drive an interactive, adaptive survey technology for surveying

over the Internet, using email as the means of transport.
2. To measure the distribution of electronic documents published by the
White House over the Internet and other computer networks, and in
particular to:
 map primary and secondary paths of distribution;
 estimate number and demographics of recipients;
 get data on use of and attitude toward documents;
 learn how to improve the publications system;
 Evaluate the survey technology.
