[INTRODUCTION]

(TRICIA): Magandang Umaga mga Kabayan! Kamusta kayo? As we all know, the
Philippines is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire which means we are prone to earthquakes.

(ROBIN): Before an earthquake, it is important to take certain precautions to ensure your

safety and minimize damage to your property. Here is a procedure that you can follow:

• Identify potential hazards: Identify potential hazards in your home or workplace that could
cause injury or damage during an earthquake. This includes items that could fall, such as
bookshelves, mirrors, and heavy furniture.

• Prepare an emergency kit: Prepare an emergency kit with essential supplies such as non-
perishable food, water, a first aid kit, flashlights, batteries, and a portable radio.

• Develop an emergency plan: Develop an emergency plan with your family or coworkers
that outlines what to do before, during, and after an earthquake. Include important contact
information, such as phone numbers for emergency services, family members, and neighbors.

• Secure your belongings: Secure items that could fall or break during an earthquake. This
includes securing heavy furniture to the walls, anchoring bookshelves, and placing breakable
items in cabinets with latches.

• Check for building safety: If you live or work in a building, check for safety features such
as reinforced walls and foundations, and ensure that emergency exits are clearly marked and
easily accessible.

Emss)

[Kyle](Juan): Anong nangyayari?, lumilindol ba? Owshee anong gagawin ko? Ano ba yung

(ROBIN): During an earthquake, it is important to stay calm and take necessary precautions
to ensure your safety. Here are the steps you can follow:

• Drop, Cover, and Hold On: If you are indoors, drop down to the ground, take cover under a
sturdy desk or table, and hold on until the shaking stops. If there is no desk or table nearby,
cover your head and neck with your arms and crouch in an inside corner of the building.

• Stay away from windows: Move away from windows, mirrors, and anything that could fall
on you, such as shelves or hanging objects.

• Stay indoors: Do not go outside until the shaking has stopped. The most dangerous time is
during the shaking, so it is important to stay put until it is safe to leave.

• If you are outside: Move to an open area away from buildings, trees, and power lines. Drop
to the ground and cover your head and neck with your arms.

[Kyle](Juan): Ahhh! (Biglang nagkaroon ng ideya) Duck, cover and hold!

(ROBIN): Here is a general procedure that individuals and communities can follow after an
earthquake:
"Earth Science ILS Script Audio Visual Presentation"

• Check for injuries: The first priority is to check yourself and those around you for any
injuries. Administer first aid if necessary and seek medical attention if injuries are serious.

• Check for damage: Assess your surroundings for any damage to buildings, roads, bridges,
power lines, and gas lines. If you suspect any damage, evacuate the area and contact the
appropriate authorities.

• Turn off utilities: If you smell gas or notice any damage to gas lines, turn off the gas
immediately. Turn off electricity and water if you suspect any damage to electrical or
plumbing systems.

• Check for aftershocks: Earthquakes are often followed by aftershocks that can cause further
damage. Be prepared to take cover again if you feel any aftershocks.

• Contact loved ones: Contact your loved ones to let them know you are safe and check on
their well-being. Use text messages or social media if phone lines are busy.

• Stay informed: Stay tuned to news and emergency broadcasts for updates on the situation,
including evacuation orders or other instructions from authorities.

• Help others: If you are safe and able, help others in your community who may need
assistance. This could include providing first aid, shelter, or emotional support.

(TRICIA): Ayan, ano pong pangalan niyo?

naramdaman mo yung lindol kanina?

sobrang lakas talaga! As in.

Pag-init at

"Earth Science ILS Script Audio Visual Presentation"
