IF I MAY If I may,

Our country is under the sway,

If I may, COVID-19 living on our joyous day,

Relieving warmth of yesterday, While vaccines are in trays,

While I’m sitting here drifting away, Pushing cases down like a runway.

Wondering if I’m truly okay? I want to grow up a little right away,

Feeling blue, counting my day, Save many lives to repay,

It’s really the worst, they say. For the hearts who have been preyed,

Many bodies have decay, By the ultimate evil betray,

Public places fill with spray, In taking families and babies away.

Empty roads on the way,

Thousands people at the sick bay, If I may,

And schools are closed today. In a few years away,

This will be such a portray,

What shall I say? The path of life and the fray,

My dreams are fragile such as clay, The unemployed, the lost and the
castaway,
I can no longer play,
Gladly, Frontliners, heroes of the day,
Missing my friends every single day,
I’m still here, seeing through the subway,
And not even dining at the café,
Hoping a glimpse at the end of the day,
And few rules we need to obey.
A new beginning for us to relay,
Two years in a speedway,
And I wish we all turn out okay.
While big companies in deray,

Trying to afloat in their own way,

It’s not safe here, they say,

With gloomy faces night and day.
