PRACTICE EXERCISES

1. A student’s anxieties never end. After clearing the Board Examination of class XII,
there is the uncertainty of getting admission to a college and a course of one’s
choice. The cut-off percentage in good colleges rises every year. There are hardly
any openings for average students. Write a letter to the Editor of a national daily
stating the above problems. You are Reena/Rohit from New Delhi.

2. You are Krishna, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Noida, and have been coming
across certain headlines in the newspapers on the shortage of electricity. You are
also facing an erratic supply of electricity in your locality. Write a letter to the Editor of
a local daily regarding your plight and mention the inconvenience faced by the
residents of the locality.
