SUCCESS
( Pursuing Success that really matters )
How would you define success?
“I am one of the
loneliest people
on this earth.”

Michael Jackson
“ I think everybody
should get RICH and
be FAMOUS and do
everything he ever
dreamed of so he
can see that it is not
the answer to
Happiness.”

KING SOLOMON
(The wisest and wealthiest
man who ever lived)
Ecclesiastes 2:4-11

I tried to experience the only happiness most

people find during their brief life in this world.

4I also tried to find meaning by building huge

homes for myself and by planting beautiful
vineyards.

5I made gardens and parks, filling them with all

kinds of fruit trees.

6I built reservoirs to collect the water to irrigate

my many flourishing groves.
7 I bought slaves, both men and women, and
others were born into my household. I also
owned large herds and flocks, more than any of
the kings who had lived in Jerusalem before me.

8 I collected great sums of silver and gold, the

treasure of many kings and provinces. I hired
wonderful singers, both men and women, and
had many beautiful concubines. I had everything
a man could desire!
9 So I became greater than all who had lived in
Jerusalem before me, and my wisdom never
failed me.

10Anything I wanted, I would take. I denied

myself no pleasure. I even found great pleasure in
hard work, a reward for all my labors.

Lahat ay walang saysay
11 Butas I looked at everything I had worked so hard
to accomplish, it was ALL so MEANINGLESS—
like chasing the wind. There was nothing really
worthwhile anywhere.
“Our greatest fear should not be
failure, but of succeeding at
something that doesn’t really
matter” - D. L. Moody
John 6:35

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread

of life. Whoever comes to me will never
go hungry, and whoever believes in me
will never be thirsty.
The Parable of
the Rich Fool
Luke 12: 15-17
15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your
guard against all kinds of greed; life does not
consist in an abundance of possessions.”
16 And he told them this parable: “The ground

of a certain rich man yielded an abundant

harvest. 17 He thought to himself, ‘What shall I
do? I have no place to store my crops.’
Luke 12: 18-19
18 “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear
down my barns and build bigger ones, and
there I will store my surplus grain. 19 And I’ll say
to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for
many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be
merry.”’
Luke 12: 20-21
20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very
night your life will be demanded from you. Then
who will get what you have prepared for
yourself?’
21 “This is how it will be with whoever stores up

things for themselves but is

not rich toward God.”
Once your life is over, everything that you’ve
accumulated and have worked so hard to
accomplish; your wealth, possessions, fame , titles
and position will just be left behind. Even the people
that we loved. But what will last forever is your
relationship with God.

So, don’t just work for the things that

are temporal, but on things that has
eternal value.
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal,
kill and destroy. I have come that
you may have
life and have it abundantly.
Jeremiah 29:11
11For I know the plans I have for
you, declares the LORD. Plans to
prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a
future.
Hebrews 9:27

It is appointed for man to die

once, after that to face
judgement.
Luke 16:19-21
19 “Now there was a rich man, and he
habitually dressed in purple and fine linen,
joyously living in splendor every day. 20 And
a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his
gate, covered with sores, 21 and longing to
be fed with the crumbs which were falling
from the rich man’s table; besides, even
the dogs were coming and licking his
sores.
Luke 16:22-24
22 Now the poor man died and was carried
away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and
the rich man also died and was
buried. 23 In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being
in torment, and saw Abraham far away and
Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried out and
said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and
send Lazarus so that he may dip the tip of his
finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I
am in agony in this flame.
Luke 16:27-28
27 Andhe said, ‘Then I beg you, father, that
you send him to my father’s house— 28 for I
have five brothers—in order that he
may warn them, so that they will not also
come to this place of torment.’
John 14:6
6 Jesus said, I am the way, the
truth and the life. No one comes
to the Father except through me.
Romans 3:23
23For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23
23 For all the wages of sin is
death. But the gift of God is
eternal life through Christ Jesus
our Lord.
John 1:12
12 Yet
to all who received him,
to those who believed in his
name, he gave the right to
become children of God—
