Problem solution essay: Drug abuse

Drug abuse is the repeated and excessive use of drugs. It impacts a person’s mental as well as
physical health negatively and causing a major damage to the brain. Substance addiction is such a
thing that once you start using it, it makes you addicted and then it is very difficult to control this
desire. Even if it is very difficult to get rid of this addiction and return to normal life, it is not
impossible. Several ways to deal with the problem of drug abuse include keeping under the control,
talking and encouraging, getting professional help.

First of all, it is observed that drug abuse is most prevalent among school-age children. For this
reason, I do not find it right that some parents give their children too much freedom, allow
everything and not interfere with them at all. I think that a little more attention should be paid to
children, especially in adolescence. Because especially adolescent children may be more inclined to
comply with their friends, to oppose their parents, and to become addicted to bad habits such as
smoking and drug abuse. Therefore, it is necessary to control the children without squeezing too
much, without pressure, so that it is not too hard.

Secondly, if a person is found to be addicted to drug, it is not right to judge and blame him too much.
Because when you do this, the reality does not change, on the contrary, it harms the addicted person
mentally. People who are not psychologically strong in this way may become worse rather than
better because of pressure, judgment, and guilt. People with bad habits often realize that what they
are doing is a bad thing. The best thing to do in this situation is to try to talk to the addicted person
calmly, encourage them and make them believe that they can get better. Because believing that you
can recover and return to your old life gives hope and strength on this path.

Thirdly, after talking to and encouraging the addicted person, the best thing to do is to hospitalize
him and get him professional help from doctors. Because drug abuse is something that needs to be
kept under control in the hospital. Because when the body demands that substance again, the
person may have a seizure, become aggressive and turn into someone they are not, and harm others.
For example, last year, a drug addicted man in Turkey cut off his mother’s head and threw it out the
window because he had a seizure. In order to avoid these situations, it is very important for drug
addicts to get professional help from doctors in the hospital.

As a result, drug abuse is not a path of no return. Taking under the control, talking and encouraging
and getting professional help are the most effective solutions to ending drug abuse. The famous
model Cara Delevingne overcame drug abuse, which she had been struggling with for some time, and
returned to her previous life. I believe that any substance abuser who does not give up can overcome
it.
