New iPhone 13, should you skip it?

Finally, Apple gave us a new iPhone with a 120 Hz display, but an “innovation”, with
which all 200$ androids are equipped won't be available with every model of a new iPhone.
But let's get back to this a bit later, this is not the only new thing in the new iPhone 13.
This year's Apple presentation was even more amazing than the previous – some will say,
perfect shots taken by drones were even a more effective part of this event than the new
upgrades.
Firstly, the design, or more correctly placement of the cameras, in new iPhone 13 and
iPhone 13 mini cameras are placed diagonally towards each other, in Pro and Pro Max models,
camera placement has remained the same as last year, but doesn’t worry if you want everyone
to know that you got the last model, Apple added a new color, Sierra Blue, so one glance is
enough for everyone to know, you succeed in life.
As for the front of the phone, putting the sound piece upwards made the notch 20%
smaller, but the battery percentage still can’t be seen, that sums up changes in design, on Apple
presentation the phone looked almost the same as the last year’s, which by no means is a bad
thing.
Other welcoming news is that the basic model now starts with 128 GB of internal
memory while the price remains the same, for 13 mini it is 699$, for 13 - 799$, Pro – 999$, and
Pro Max starts at 1099$.
The new 120 Hz display definitely was a challenge for not-so-great iPhone battery life, but
Apple assures us that new models will have 1.5 hours (for 13 mini and 13) and 2.5 hours (13
Pro and 13 Pro Max) longer battery life. These are pretty average specs compared to some
android smartphones with support of 120-watt chargers that can go from 0 to 100 in 20 mins.
Still, guess that long battery life is not the main priority of Apple users.
Let's get back to the main upgrade, yep, as of today you can buy iPhone with a 120 Hz
display, but a feature that has become mainstream on android smartphones only can be seen
with iPhone pro models, standard iPhone and iPhone mini come with good old 60 Hz display.
It's not hard to understand the reasons for this, smartphone manufacturers like Samsung or
Xiaomi make dozens of different models per year, while Apple just makes 4 and many of its
consumers really don’t care about the refresh rates of a display. It is hard to satisfy costumers
every need in just 4 models and up to this point, Apple manages it fairly well.
The next big update is a new camera setup. An iPhone's ability to shoot a video was
considered the best among smartphones, the new model makes a new step forward. The
iPhone 7 was the first Apple smartphone with portrait mode, which was a pretty complex task
for a processor back in 2016, it had to “feel” the depth of the picture and blur the background,
after 5 generations this can be done 30 times per second. The new camera can blur the
background while shooting or afterward, of course, Apple’s cameras still have a long way to go
before they can catch up to DSLRs but these are baby steps, and it's not hard to imagine that in
a few years apple will be competing with big guys in DSLR industry.
As for internal specs, not much can be said here, the previous A14 chip was faster than
any other competitors, and so is A15, for the last few years Apple is way ahead in this
department.
Lastly, this year's updates mainly focused on Pro models, standard iPhone 13 is pretty
much the same phone as last year’s, except if diagonally placed cameras evoke special feelings
in your heart.
