The CEO of TikTok is currently Shou Zi Chew, who took

over the role in March 2021. Here's a brief biography of


his career:
Shou Zi Chew was born in Malaysia in 1982 and grew up
in Singapore. He graduated from the National University
of Singapore with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering in
2003, and then went on to earn an MBA from Harvard
Business School in 2008.
After completing his MBA, Chew worked for McKinsey &
Company as a management consultant for several years,
focusing on technology and telecom industries. In 2015,
he joined Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi as its Chief
Financial Officer (CFO), helping the company expand its
business globally and go public in Hong Kong in 2018.
Chew left Xiaomi in 2020 to become the CEO of TikTok's
parent company, ByteDance, where he oversees the
company's global business operations, including its
popular short-form video app TikTok. Chew's leadership
has been instrumental in helping TikTok navigate the
many regulatory and political challenges it has faced in
recent years, particularly in the United States.
Under Chew's leadership, TikTok has continued to grow
rapidly and expand its reach around the world. The app
now has over one billion active users, and has become a
cultural phenomenon, particularly among young people.
Chew's experience in both finance and technology has
made him a valuable asset to TikTok and ByteDance, and
