Expert on TikTok Operations: CEO - Shou Zi Chew

Shou Zi Chew, 39, is the Chief Executive Officer of TikTok since the
year 2021. He became the CEO after predecessor Kevin Mayer left
after three months. Chew was mentioned in The New York Times
and Business Insider.

He gained his knowledge in the field of technology after attending


the University College London for his master's degree and Harvard
Business School for his MBA in 2010. At Harvard, Chew worked
alongside Mark Zuckerberg to help set up the early stages of
Facebook.

After graduating, Chew worked as an investment banker at both Goldman Sachs and DST
Global. Chew became an entrepreneur when he created an application called Junri Toutiao which
turned into ByteDance. Previously he held the position of CFO of Chinese smartphone company
Xiaomi.

He soon joined back with ByteDance. Chew stepped down at ByteDance to fill the role of CEO
at Tik Tok as he has acquired the skills and knowledge from his extensive background to bring
the application to new heights. ByteDance still overtakes control of the application.

As the CEO, Shou Zi Chew deals with the responsibility of ensuring the safety and data of its
users. He has enhanced the safety by creating more positions at TikTok around trust and safety.
He will continue to build safety regiments to make TikTok users and employees feel
comfortable.

Chew overseas TikTok’s finances, operations and marketing strategies. In 2021, he was
recognized in Fortune's 40 under 40 to celebrate his success as the CEO of Tik Tok, specifically
praising him for “navigating the complex political scene of both China and the United States.”
Chew is an expert of TikTok operations and is available to speak on them. Today, Chew lives
with his wife and two children in Singapore.

Eric Han has been the Head of Safety at TikTok since 2019.
Han earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in mass communication
from The University of California, Berkeley. After graduating
in 2008, Han became a Legal Assistant at Google where he
processed removal requests of allegedly illegal content.

Han soon began a new role at Flickr where he enforced safety


policies, continuing to grow his knowledge for online safety. In
2011, Han became the Safety Policy Manager at Twitter. He
was in this role until 2014. While in this role, Han was the
primary author of content policies on Twitter and Vine. He also
became a founding member of the Product Safety Abuse Task Force at Twitter.

Han then worked at Uber where he was the Innovation & Experiment Lead. He managed the
Development Team until 2016. In 2016 Han became the Senior Trust & Safety Manager at
Digital Ocean. Han was in this role until he joined TikTok in 2019 as the Head of Safety.

At TikTok Han is most responsible for protecting the integrity and safety of the entire platform.
He ensures that what is being posted on the app is safe for all users of different demographics.

He is an expert and available to speak on online abuse, scams, bullying, eating disorders,
self-harm, and one’s well-being. He will continue to look out for these safety concerns to make
TikTok users feel safe at all times while using the app.
Expert Technologist and CISA: Head of Information Technology, USDS -
Eric Wang

Eric Wang is the Head of Information Technology at TikTok, Inc. Wang


received his bachelors of science in accounting and management
information systems, and gained knowledge in industrial design at
California State University.

At TikTok, expert technologist and CISA, Eric Wang, manages


information technology, focusing on the sending and receiving
information aspect of the app. Wang also works closely with
cybersecurity to ensure the safety and security of TikTok users and to
make sure the app is running smoothly.

Wang began his career as Vice President as the head of IT at Woodbury


University from 2016 to 2019. Following his career at Woodbury
University, he became a senior consultant, IT manager, and senior program manager at the Walt
Disney Company until 2021.

Wang then spent 14+ years working in two different roles at DWGS, LLC. He was a partner and
principal consultant, where he focused on IT and business consulting. He next became an advisor
at the company. He is now a senior technologist and has worked in industries related to banking,
financial, entertainment, retail, food, higher education, not-for-profit, and startup.

Wang is known for his great attitude, reliability, and his strong approach in each project of
completion. He is a certified information systems auditor (CISA) through ISACA and a
Microsoft Certified Professional. Wang also writes opinions on articles about technology and
data including one called “Tomorrow's concern is here - Robot Friend,” about new robotic
animals being manufactured. As a technology specialist, he helps keep TikTok running smoothly
for all users and creators on the app.
