The Good
and

The One
Excerpt from the Enneads
Plotinus

The Good- It is cause of the intellectual and intellective life as of life and intellect
-Particularly the supreme concept of goodness
The One- Simplex and first because before it was nothing
-Plotinus taught that there is a supreme, godlike. Totally transcendent
-It is beyond all categories of being and non-being
-with respect of goodness

Explanation:
Based on my understanding Plotinus consider “the Good” as the cause of
intelligent and intellective life as life and intellect which is the supreme concept of
goodness and he consider the One with respect of goodness which is the
highest virtue or principle.
We as an individual have the natural goodness within ourselves and we can't
only see the goodness of someone by looking at the things that they do that is
visible for everyone. We can see the true goodness of someone by looking at the
goodness of their heart and we will not only see it but we will also see its trace if
their goodness are marked to everyone’s mind and heart or if it is being
remembered because of their good deeds or acts. We should hold on to the
goodness within ourselves and form the idea that the goodness is not just based
on anything that we can see or visible on us. But, it is about something that we
can't see or pretend.

We cannot have the power of this principle, completely but we can still be good.
We can attain the goodness slightly by doing such things that are good and
shows goodness to us as an individual.

For example you are trying to help those people who are in need. You don’t want
to be recognized just because of doing such things. You will never show yourself
helping but instead you will send your help without trying to be recognized and
praise by everyone. You will never show it entire. In that situation, you've already
proven that you are the divine intellect working with the good intentions. Like our
God, we can't see Him helping us but we can see his trace by looking at the way
how he sends us help by answering our prayers and supplications.
