Why does health vary by region?

- More health facilities are directly related to the age expectancy of any given country

The reason gambia has a thin age pyramid is because of a lack of health care facilities, whereas US and
Denmark are the opposite.

Epidemic is only concerned with certain communities, black plague is a pandemic, a pandemic doesn’t
have to be throughout the world but it has to span across several countries or regions

Example of an epidemic – localized malaria

The difference is a pandemic is more widespread compared to an epidemic

Health measures taken include medicine and health care facilities
