Discussion Questions

1. You have begun a small, but growing business. What advantages and
disadvantages should you consider before changing it from a sole
proprietorship to a corporation?

A sole proprietorship is simple to set up, cheap to process through, has

low startup cost, subject to minimal rules from the government and provides tax
benefits.
The owner will be personally liable for any debts of the business, and to be
sued for business-related activity. If a sole proprietorship's owner quits or
decides to stop managing the company, the company will typically stop
operating and the owner will no longer be able to profit from the company
moving forward.
Corporations, however, are distinct from their owners. It offers greater
personal security for the owners or shareholders, permits several shareholders
with various stakes in the company, and makes the business more appealing to
bankers, investors, and other parties who might be interested in lending money
to it.
From the standpoint of both the general market and different stakeholders,
establishing and operating a business through a corporation can offer a higher
level of legitimacy and professionalism. As a result, can continue to operate in
the future. But corporations cost more to set up and run, time-consuming, liable
to double taxes, and requiring certain formalities and regulations to be followed.
2. Discuss the strategy you propose to use in your personal career to assure
you will remain in demand in a changing, competitive world.

I believed that learning is a continuous process, which helps people improve

their current abilities, and develop the abilities, information, and attitudes
necessary to prepare them for future roles with greater responsibility.
So, in order for me to stay in demand in a changing and competitive world,
I need to continue pursuing learning. It does not end after we graduate from our
college or get a job. Thus, attending seminars, pieces of training, and workshops
will be a great help for me to become a better, smart, great leader, and productive
in the future.
Moreover, I will find a mentor, whose adept and an expert in my field. A
mentor shares his or her own career path, as well as provides guidance,
motivation, emotional support, and role modeling.
