Individual Case Analysis #2

I. Analyze President Duterte's means on his war on drugs, using the concept of justice and
fairness; promoting the common good.

President Rodrigo Duterte enacted his campaign on drugs on his first year of service to
the Filipinos. He aims to stop or lessen the massive case of drug trades in the Philippines, as
being the primary root of crimes; wanted to make Philippines a safe country for its people and
to other foreign visitors; and overthrow goverment officials and military officer whose involved
in drug trade in the country. He used this concept from what he had done in Davao as a former
city mayor.

Subsequently, he proposed the tokhang program which means that the Philippine National
Police officers will do house to house campaign, pleading drug users to surrender, giving them
chance to change and allowing them to undergo drug rehabilitation before it leads them to
arrest and put to jail. However, it is evident that crime rates in the whole country lessen,
hence, huge shredding of blood occurs.

Every proven drug users has an equal and fair oppurtunity to change their lives.
Confidentiality and services will be offered, but they must promised not to be involved again in
such acts. Otherwise, PNP will be forced to conduct raids and if they tried to resist, they might
die. It is also fair for the filipinos living in the Philippines to have a crime free, peaceful, and safe
country because citizens appointed and entrusted President Duterte as their new president.
Furthermore, everyone deserves to have a balance society, as well as, drug surrenders will have
an equal treatment and assistance to the goverment.

Meanwhile, the existing extra judicial killings (EJK) showed that President Duterte's campaign
is not just. As numerous drug users and drug surrenders whose in underbody died easily
without proper trial and conformity. Hence, those who are in position in the goverment, have
well known names, and those who have lot of money granted to scaped from prison and
chance of death. It is not just, for underbodies were still human. They have rights to live,
undergo proper trial or defend themselves from accusations. There's no reported cases that a
proven well known personality died because of tokhang. It is due that they have money to
apply for a lawyer and delay their case. Unlike to those poor people where blood shred quickly
right after they were warned. They don't even have their rights to appeal sort of devalued.
 Moreover, it is unethical to say that President Duterte can go exposed and dictates list of
goverment officials and police generals in media and national television. He does'nt have a
right, valid and clear source for such action. Therefore, it is just to say that President Dutertes'
aims for the common good through war on drugs is equal or fair for the benefit of society; but
it is not just for it violates human dignity and rights.
