Tables: categorical & Measures: Numerical

You can drag measures to tables & vice versa.

 Tables are independent variables & Measure Names are dependent variables
- For e.g. how many ‘units’ per region were sold?

Drag them

Drag sum to cols.

Well that doesn’t solve the question cause the Units aren’t in dollars or currencies. So for that we
can add a calculative field

COLORS:

Drag from anywhere of those specially when you’ve 100 columns Click on ctrl & & then drag it to the
colours “Marks” like that it won’t screw up your measurements.

 Drag units to colors so that you get, more sales & darker color
Drag it to labels so that you can see the labels

Right click , click n format to change colors


2. TIMESERIES:

Tableau has automatically No. of unemployed in a particular year when plotted

You can easily change periods to months

1 = Sum average of all months, 2 = avg of all months in a year


Get dots in the line plot.

Using shape charts:

Take Gender & Drag on colours

You can change it from Analysis window:

Then uncheck This option

- Above examples we used SUM , if you wanna use other aggn. Functions

Turn agg. = ON & then from arrow change the aggn format in measures.

- Drag to color, then after you drag that attribute to color, drag the same attribute to
labels & then boom.
 Filters

- Drag attrs. From there to filters section

- then edit the filter for men / women

- Click on show filter u can see it


- Single vale will help u see 1 value at a time
- Eg.

- Drage Age to filters -> Apply -. Right click & show filters
