Here we have counted the public and private

companies using countif() function

Here we have averaged the age of public and
private companies.
But these things can be easily calculate using Pivot Table (PT) only by drag and drop.
Go in Insert Option Pivot TableFrom
Table/Range.
1) Drag on Columns(A to L in my case) from start to end of
the table to select the full table.
2) Choose Existing Worksheet if data is static and then
select any empty location in your table to create a template.
Drag company type and put it in rows as we have to find count and
average age of public and private companies.
Drag Serial Number and put it in Values.Now perform the
operations like count by taking the count on Serial Number for
public and private companies only
Drag age and put it in Values. Now perform the operations like average by
taking the average on Age Column for public and private companies only.
Note: Here you will find Sum or count of Age simply click on age and you
will get value field setting from there you can change the function.
You can see by simply drag and drop I’ve got the solutions rather than using functions and
putting its parameters, which sometimes becomes tedious if you don’t remember the
function and its parameters.
Give Name to Table as if we put rows and column range and what
will happen if more rows are inserted.So to name a table go in
HomeFormat as TableSelect any (Light, Medium) preference.
Left handside you will get a option to name the table
