CHAPTER V 

INTERNAL ANALYSIS 

This chapter contains the internal analysis of the Cinco Corporation  which aims to

determine its current position with regards to the human resources,  marketing, production and

operations, and financial performance areas that are  relevant to know in assessing the current

strengths and weaknesses of the said company.

5.1 Human Resource Area

The Cinco Corporation ensures that diversity and inclusion permeates all levels of the

corporation. Its Human Resources department is responsible for achieving this via a recruiting

process that emphasizes candidates' talents and potential and does not discriminate based on

race, religion, or gender. They also contribute to the well-being of neighboring communities by

employing people around their food kiosks in almost every Potato Corner food stand franchise

throughout the world. And via their online recruiting platform, they want to hire, train, and

provide employment possibilities to local people from all around the nation, even if they are not

college graduates.

The Cinco Corporation's Human Resources department is in charge of managing

diversity programs. They plan to give more chances for workers to learn about and embrace

workplace diversity via networking groups, training and assistance, and mentoring programs,

and to monitor the employees' progress in this area on a regular basis.


Accordingly, Cinco Corporation invest heavily in supporting their employees' 

professional and personal development because they see them as partners in the  company's

growth. Aside from fair compensation and benefits, the company provides  opportunities for

skill training, job enrichment, and career advancement, while also  promoting work-life balance

across the organization. Cinco Corporation also provides an amount  PHP 21,583,393 as their

investment for employee training with around 43,800  training hours obtained for its employees.

In essence, Cinco Company is committed to maintaining the safety of its employees by

protecting them from possible health and safety risks and hazards on the job. At all functioning

food kiosks, safety measures are carefully adhered to. By closely following to safety rules,

accidents are prevented or decreased, and contingency plans are in place to manage possible

issues as soon as they occur. Hence, the firm is continually fostering a safety-focused culture

and a mindset that workplace safety is essential not just for regulatory compliance but also for

establishing a sustainable business.

5.2 Corporate Governance

The Cinco Corporation recognizes the importance of good governance in its pursuit of

sustainable development and the creation of increased shareholder value. They recognize that

good corporate governance must encompass their entire value chain in order to ensure that the

organization operates in accordance with business ethics, rules and regulations, and adheres to

fair labor practices as they continue to fulfill multiple economic, moral, legal, and social

obligations to their stakeholders.


Hence, Cinco Corporation ensures the formation of a committee whose primary purpose

is to ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and practices; this body is the

Corporate Governance Committee. It regularly examines the corporate governance framework to

ensure that it remains relevant in light of major changes in the company's size, complexity,

strategy, business, and regulatory environments.

 Whistleblower Policy

The whistleblower policy protects the identity and safety of employees who disclose

misconduct by coworkers or superiors. Reporters who act in good faith are protected from

reprisal, victimization, harassment, or unfair disciplinary action, and are actively encouraged to

disclose their concerns.

 Conflicts of Interest Policy

The Company is reluctant to intervene with its workers' personal life and supports their

freedom to manage their own finances and assets. In the same vein, workers should stay out of

any precarious situations that might pit their own goals against those of the firm. Workers need

to keep the company's best interests in mind at all times. Workers owe their loyalty to the firm

and should stay away from anything that might compromise their ability to make decisions in the

best interests of the business on their own. Moreover, one should stay away from anything that

even slightly resembles a conflict of interest.

 Anti-Sexual Harassment and Safe Spaces Policy 


Cinco Corporation will not tolerate any sort of sexual harassment inside its facilities or in

any of its business dealings, since this goes against the company's basic principle of respect for

the individual. The organization has always been dedicated to providing an environment free of

sexual harassment. An individual's right to mental health, respect, and pride in oneself must be

upheld at all times on the job.

 Policy Statement on Human Rights 

In line with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, The

Cinco Corporation will respect and promote human rights in all of its dealings with customers,

suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, stakeholders, and visitors.

 Insider Trading Policy 

During a time frame of five trading days before to the publication of significant information

and up to three trading days following the revelation of material information, all managers and

above are forbidden from purchasing or selling Cinco Corporation shares according to the

Company's Insider Trading Policy. Those who are impacted by trade halts are contacted through

email.

 Corruption, Extortion, and Bribery 

The firm does not allow its employees to engage in any sort of bribery, corruption, or

extortion, such as demanding or accepting money, commissions, promises, or seeking material

favors from vendors or clients with whom the company does business.
 Supplier Code of Conduct

Over its more than three decades in the potato or French Fries industry, Cinco Corporation

has built up a reputation for honesty and reliability among its clients and competitors alike.

Global suppliers and business partners are expected to agree to and respect the firm's high

standards of ethics, values, and operational principles to ensure the company continues to earn

its customers' trust. Responsible sourcing is emphasized and outlined in Cinco Corporation's

Supplier Code of Conduct, including their commitments to human rights, the environment,

health, safety, and  quality, business ethics, and the development of a sustainable supply chain. 

 Policy on Health, Safety and Welfare of Employees 

The company's policy is to offer all employees with a safe and healthy working environment

that complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) mandated by the U.S.

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). All Cinco Corporation and Potato Corner

locations, including franchisees and affiliates, are required to establish a Health and Safety

Committee.

 Employee Training and Development Policy 

All regular workers will be offered access to the company's ongoing training and

development initiatives. Internal and external training programs should be used by employees to

better equip them to carry out their duties and responsibilities and meet the business's demands.

The programs also need to put an emphasis on employees' ability to grow professionally.

 Product Quality and Responsible Innovation


The specifications, quality, and safety criteria of the relevant contract papers are met, and the

supplied goods and services are suitable for their intended use. Good clinical practice and

generally acknowledged scientific, technological, and ethical standards provide the foundation

for all research and development activities.
