Answering Interjectors and Objections

Some important verses to consider in relation to answering interjections:

Prov. 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 Cor. 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We
implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

This next verse has been used by people trying to prove that the Bible contains contradictions.

Prov. 26:4-5 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself. Answer a fool
according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.

If you’re speaking to more than one person at a time - you face the situation where people can take sides.
However, if handled intelligently it can often cause people to come to a point of agreement with you.

Paley’s Watchmaker illustration. This suggests there must be a designer, which he said is
God. Paley used a watch to illustrate his point. If he came across a mechanical watch on the
ground, he would assume that its many complex parts fitted together for a purpose and that it had
not come into existence by chance. There must be a watchmaker.
