PILOT TESTING

Pilot testing can be defined as a type of software testing that verifies a component of
the system or the whole system under a real time operating condition. The purpose
of doing pilot test is to evaluate the feasibility, time, cost, and performance of a
project. In Pilot testing, a selected group of end users try the system under test and
provide the feedback before the full
deployment of the system. In other words, it means to conduct a dress rehearsal for
the usability test that follows. Pilot Testing helps in early detection of bugs in the
project. Pilot testing is concerned with installing a system on a customer site for
testing against continuous and regular use.

Pilot Testing Procedure

Participant

We will approach government and ask them whether they are willing to test our
product in the school area. We will then install 10 pedestrian traffic light barriers in
five different school location which include the barrier and the system that will control
the barriers. The distance of the barrier will be the same like each other so that we
will receive same results.

Location

We will choose school that are in the Kota Masai, Johor. The reason that we choose
this location is because there are many school that are nearby so that we can put our
product and we will also be able to see the effectiveness. Apart from that, as we all
know that the safety in school are not in very good condition because every years we
will hear about an incidents happen. So, school is the best location for us to conduct
our pilot testing.

Result and Evaluate

After we have finished testing our product, we will offer each participant a brief
feedback form so they may share their unvarnished thoughts on it. This can help us
make our product better so that it is in the best possible shape. In addition, we will
spend 5 to 10 minutes conducting a brief interview. The participant can use this to
convey anything they are unable to do so on the feedback form. Also, the interviewer
must have ongoing queries in order to learn more and get responses directly from the
participants.
