ABSTRACT/SUMMARY

The main objective of this internship was to learn the work that is being done in different fields
by different companies. To learn and enhance the skills that will help in choosing in
specialization for my BBA course in the next year and to have a clarity about the different
methods used in different fields to solve the organizational problems to achieve their objective.
As an Finance intern in BYPL, I learned about GST invoices, GST MIS and in filing GST
Return, analysis of GST notification and circulars. This helped me prepare TDS MIS and TDS
Returns Analysis of TDS Provisions w.r.t. new amendments and circulars issued by Income Tax
Department.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
Finance (Income Tax Department)

1.1 Importance of Finance for a website/Company

We all know that all businesses run on money, and business finance is there to help
you make smart and wise financial decisions concerning long-term funding
strategies as well as cash flow. By learning more about business finance, using the
money you have in your business, and how to get even more capital when you
need it, the profitability of your organization will improve, and you will increase
the potential to leverage more opportunities.

1.2 Importance of Finance

Finance is the field of dealing with money matters. It is an important aspect for
any individual or for an organization. In a business, it is a critical function
because any business needs to make money to continue functioning. That is why
it is considered to be a specialised field which requires trained people.

1.3. Qualities of a Good Finance Trainee

There are certain qualities that every company looks for in a person when they are
hiring for Finance Trainee. They look for everything listed below and choose the
person who has the mix of all these qualities. Choosing such person will help the
company to get a great Finance Trainee who will be able to mould their ideas more
easily and will help in wealth maximization. The qualities of a good Finance
Trainee are:

1.4. Experience as a Finance Trainee

I worked at BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. I was a Finance intern and the department
that were me under were Income Tax and Balance Sheet. I was assigned daily task
related to GST, TDS for the Company and give my ideas. Apart from these, I was
frequently assigned task to create Invoices, Credit notes, Debit Notes using Excel
and Word. I learnt the basics of Income Tax. The topics of the post ranged from
ongoing events on the CBIC website, powerful message regarding the business of
the company and many other topics. I helped preparing GST invoices, GST MIS
and in filing GST Return, analysis of GST notification and circulars. This helped
me prepare TDS MIS and TDS Returns Analysis of TDS Provisions w.r.t. new
amendments and circulars issued by Income Tax Department.

Sometimes I was aware of the topic on which I had to do, while many times, the
topic was new to me. This helped me to get better at Finance work and it also
helped me to gain knowledge about many things that I was unaware about. The
constant approval or disapproval of the fellow members helped me to gain more
experience and allowed me to grow as a Finance Trainee. Many times, I was
praised for my work, while other times I was criticised as well. The accumulation
of praise and criticism helped me to become better. The 8-week internship helped
me grew more than I had expected and I am very thankful for it.

CONCLUSION

The past 1-2 months were very important for the growth in my life. I did several
internships in various domains. This helped me to amass several skills in short
time. The Internship that I did was at Yamuna Power Limited. Starting as a novice,
I was trained and became a good Finance Trainee. I helped preparing GST
invoices, GST MIS and in filing GST Return, analysis of GST notification and
circulars. This helped me prepare TDS MIS and TDS Returns Analysis of TDS
Provisions w.r.t. new amendments and circulars issued by Income Tax
Department.
However apart from that, the main thing I learnt was how a company functions and
what things are needed for smooth functioning of the company. That helped me to
gain key insights which I am sure will help me in future and would help me in
choosing my domain.
