Psychological Assessment

A child’s learning abilities are likely to change throughout their time in school. The WISC-V is a

score that represents a child’s overall learning abilities; including but not limited to: cognitive

functioning, verbal comprehension, visual spatial index, working memory, and processing speed.

There are many chances for a child’s WISC-V score to be shaped by different areas of their lives

such as: motivation, attention, interests, and opportunities for learning. Because the WISC-V

score is likely to change, a child's score may be higher or lower depending on the time a child is

tested. Please view each child’s WISC-V score as a small snapshot of the children's current

ability to learn and/or understand at that current moment in time. We use these scores to help

each of us better understand a child’s strengths when learning and any extra learning needs to be

dealt with additional care and attention.
