Our Planet : A beautiful landscape

The Oscar winning film composer steven price created this masterpiece which was narrated
by the legendary broadcaster David Attenborough . I felt steven price tried to create
awareness for saving our world by showcasing the wonders that our earth possesses . I
watched the second episode of the docu-series “the frozen worlds”. the episodes kick off
with the marvellous display of Antarctica . one gets bewildered by the sight of mountain
ranges covered with 4 km high ice . once spring hits the life in Antarctica arises as well . the
depiction of the life of gentoo penguins the most adorable birds who travel their summit to
the bare rock to reach their mates for breeding was eye catching . the ocean around the
island is graced with the presence of humpback whales , orca the killer whale a predator
who preys on penguins . moving on we get to see the life on island of South Georgia where
on the land resides the albatross chicks waiting for their parents to feed them with no fear as
there are no land predators . which in contrast is the case in the ocean around it that is home
to leopard seal that feeds on penguins . although, because of our carelessness the Antarctica
is getting doomed .many albatrosses lose their life because of being entangled by fishing
lines this has declined their breeding rate to 40 % . the ice on the ocean in arctic has gotten
thin this is where the polar bears find their food and if the conditions worsen their living
might go extinct . the arctic faces the most climate change . most of the white glory of
Antarctica has diminished . this white glory was responsible to reflect the energy from sun
back into the space . with its absence Antarctica does the opposite and absorb the heat and
warms the earth even more . the conditions of walrus sadden me the most . because of the
lack of ice on the land they have to find habitats near their feeding areas where in
desperation they have to live in slumped up areas with next to no space to spare . we still
ignore the seriousness of the situation . It is our responsibility to not just save our earth from
global warmings for ourselves but also to save the homes of these majestic creatures that
reside on Antarctica .
