Topic: Effect of the Pandemic and the Ukraine-Russia war on the prices of food

● The group intends to conduct research on the effects of food prices amidst the COVID-19 pandemic
and how it is also affected by the Ukraine-Russia war (Russian invasion of Ukraine, 2022) with
regards to factors affecting food exports such as higher transport costs and gas prices.
● The research would highlight the effects of global scale events to everyday necessities such as food
prices and how it could affect businesses.

Respondents:

● The group would be interviewing workers in the food sales sector such as sari-sari store owners or
grocery store workers, depending on the availability of the interviewee.
● The contents of the interview would be the changes of food prices from the start of the COVID-19
pandemic, to the Ukraine-Russia war, until the present state of the food prices.

- Can you describe your purchasing power before March and onwards? (e.g. what can
your P1,000 buy?)
- How much budget do you allot for grocery in a week before March 2022 (prior to the
Russian invasion of Ukraine)?
- How much budget do you allot for grocery during March to November 2022? Has it
changed from your usual budget?

About Gas/ Transportation Cost

- How much do you spend on gas each month before March 2022?
- How much do you spend on gas each month during March to November 2022?
