The research model used is a form of design. The design used in this research that I
made was qualitative and Based on the qualitative, I used a descriptive
design because the data I got was information that focused on the current status and
phenomena.

In collecting data the authors conducted photo sessions and video sessions and
collected them in the form of documentation. The model of documentation related to this
problem can be in the form of a textbook, newspaper, letter, or a piece of paper.

My findings in this study are to answer the purpose of this study, namely the use or
use of words in English. Researchers will find forms of error analysis that exist in the
composition of writing used by students in aspects of the language used, punctuation, and
spelling used. And to make it easier to find out the form of error analysis that is most often
found in the writings of students or students is the simple past tense. The following error
analysis is used, namely:

Spelling of this type of analysis is the second form of error analysis that can be found in
students' essays from the simple past tense form. There are several errors in this study such as
the use or use of inappropriate words. What is shown in the example as follows is that
some of the words listed are not found in the dictionary or are spelled incorrectly.

The next is or the third is the use of punctuation aspects which ranks third in the type of
error analysis obtained from students' essays about the simple past tense. Such as the loss of
a comma after the introduction, or irregular forms of punctuation such as commas, dots,
question words, exclamation points, quotation marks, and so on. Because there are so many
uses of missing punctuation marks in English made by students or students.

DISCUSSION

A. Discussion Of the Contents Of the Main Journal and Comparison Journal

In both contents of this journal, there are several discussion themes with
material that both discusses the simple present tense and the present continuous tense.
a tense that uses the word a form of the first verb or better known as the base form.
While the comparison journal explains that the simple present tense is to describe an
event that generally occurs anywhere and anytime. Based on the definition of the
statement above, it can be concluded that the simple present tense is a type of tense
which generally describes an event or occurrence that often occurs by using the first
form of verb in the preparation of the sentence pattern. Pattern is: S + V1 + e/es +
Object.
According tense is a type of tense that can be used to state a fact and an ongoing
event. Meanwhile, according to the comparison journal, explaining the present
continuous tense is to state the occurrence of an event at this time. Based on the two
statements from the two contents of this journal, it can be concluded that the definition
of the present continuous tense is a type of tense that can be used when you want to
make a sentence or statement that an event or an event is happening and is still

a simple past pattern, namely: s + v2 + Object.
In the discussion of the past continuous tense, according to the main journal, it is
explained that this is to define an event in the past. Meanwhile, according to the
comparison journal explains that this is a statement that states events in the past.
Based on these two statements, it can be concluded that the past continuous tense is a
type of tense that can be used to talk about an event or events that have occurred in the
past but are still being discussed today. The formula that can be used when you want to
make a sentence with a past continuous tense pattern is: s + to be + was/were + v.ing.

B. Strenghts and Weaknesses Of the Contents Two Journal

53%
1. Aspect of the appearance of the book (face value) from viewed

In the main book, the title and image linkage are appropriate. Likewise, the
appearance of the Comparison book, the title and image displayed are appropriate in
the discussion of each discussion of tenses that are often studied in English material.

2. From the aspect of layout and layout as well as writing including the use of fonts

In the Main journal, the writing of the letters is very good and has been arranged
according to the table of contents and the preparation In the comparison book, the
accuracy of the use of the font is correct, but the preparation of the introduction is not
found at all in the appearance of the contents of the journal. In the main book and
comparison books, there are no chapters like in other journals, but each material is
explained according to the table of contents.

3. From the aspect of the journal content

In the Main journal, the important points contained in the table of contents have
been explained very precisely using language that is very easy to understand. The use
of simple language and illustrations makes it easy for readers to understand the aims
and objectives conveyed by the author, which is that even though it is based on the
views of the parties, there is no impression of cornering certain parties in explaining
every information regarding the many types of tenses that can be used in a story.
dialogue sentences based on the adjusted writing instrument.
11/

In the comparison journal, the materials contained in the table of contents have
been explained well and clearly. But there is a use of language terms that are difficult to
understand directly and we can understand only by using a dictionary or with other
information. The advantage in this book is that as an initial explanation it explains a to
be introduction as initial material that is not found in the main journal.

4. From the grammatical aspect of the journals

The Main journal uses simple language, meaning that every vocabulary created
is the language we use in everyday life.
In the Comparison journal there are several terms or codes whose meaning cannot be
understood directly but with the help of a dictionary or other information.
12/

CHAPTER IV
CLOSING
A. Consclusion

Based on the two contents of the journal, which very clearly explains the
definition of each tense such as simple past tense, present continuous tense, past tense
and past continuous tense and other tenses which are very clear, the purpose and
purpose of writing is clearly conveyed to the reader.
Regarding how to distinguish between tenses in order to facilitate understanding
in learning, in both journals it can be concluded that when you want to study and
distinguish between past continuous and past simple, the following is how to
understand the simple definition of the past continuous, namely that the past
continuous should only be done in a dialogue sentence or direct conversation when you
want to talk about or provide information that is happening in the past. Meanwhile, if in
understanding the past simple, what is meant is understanding a simple definition,
namely that the past simple should only be done when you want to write or make a
dialogue sentence or direct conversation when an event has been completed in the past.

B. Suggest
In my opinion, these two journals are very worthy to be used as guidelines,
especially for students, students and even educators in learning about understanding
the types of tenses studied in English which are arranged according to the patterns and
needs of an event in forming a special dialogue or conversation sentence accompanied
by by writing a very clear formula pattern. Then these books are also very helpful in
understanding all types of tenses that are arranged in a simple way that makes readers
who want to start understanding English lessons very worthy to be used as reference
materials in learning.
