    MINING PROS

    1. Socio-cultural impact - Mining firms may assist their host communities by building
    infrastructure, offering essential services, and setting up communications networks.
    2. Economic impact – Mining for minerals and metals is vital to our economy since it supplies vital
    raw materials.
    3. Political impact – Mines produce significant tax income for both national and local governments.
    4. Ecological impact – The restoration of the ecosystem in order to mitigate any potential
    environmental effects.
    5. Biological impact - Mining supplies the raw materials for an ever-growing number of
    environmental technologies, including solar panels, wind turbines, and others.

    MINING CONS

    1. Socio-cultural impact – Indigenous peoples residing in nearby villages have been documented to
    experience impacts from mining on their traditional activities.
    2. Economic impact - Mineral price fluctuations result in ongoing employment instability for mine
    contract workers.
    3. Political impact – Putting them at risk of abuse by my or government security. Several miners are
    evading taxes.
