HEARING HEALTH
Hearing plays a crucial role in our
personal well-being and in our day to
day. It is therefore vitally important to
take care of our hearing health to avoid
suffering pathologies related to this
organ.

Recommendations._
 If the sound level at work is greater than 85 dB, lower the noise level or wear hearing
protection.

 Turn down the volume on your TV, stereo, and iPod. Take extra care if you use earphones
or earplugs.

 Be careful not to turn the volume up on the car radio too high to compensate for engine or
wind noise.

 Use custom noise filters or solid earplugs if you're going to rock concerts or clubbing and
don't stand near loud speakers.

 Use noise-canceling headphones or solid earplugs if using noisy equipment such as drills,
lawn mowers, etc.

 DO NOT USE SWABS.

 KEEP EARS DRY.

 PROPERLY TREAT INFECTIONS.

 TAKE A BREAK AFTER 1 HOUR OF LISTENING TO MUSIC ON HEADPHONES OR


EARBUDS.
 TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT GETTING A HEARING TEST IF YOU HAVE
TINNITUS THAT DOESN’T GO AWAY OR IF YOU’RE CONCERNED ABOUT
YOUR HEARING.
