PROBLEM I

Miguel Manabat (Manabat) and Maria Teresa Laxamana (Maria) have one
son named Nino Laxamana (Nino). When Maria left for the United States of
America to work as a nurse, Miguel was left to care for Nino.

When Nino reached the age of 9, Miguel taught Nino how to drink and
smoke. By age 10, Miguel taught Nino the different forms of gambling. By
age 15, Miguel brought Nino to houses of ill-repute.

In 2023 after the pandemic subsided, Maria came back to the Philippines.
she was shocked to find Nino unconscious on the floor. Maria brought Nino
to the hospital, where the doctors diagnosed Nino with hepatitis, liver
cirrhosis, kidney disease, bronchitis, and gonorrhea. Maria found out from
Nino that Miguel has been teaching him how to drink, smoke, and fornicate.

Furious, Maria filed a case for Child Abuse against Miguel.

PROBLEM II

An anonymous Amazon employee sent an audio recording to the Anti-

Terrorist Division of the Philippine National Police. The audio recording
captured the conversation of 3 Chinese nationals from China, namely, Bruce
Lee, Jet Li, and Jacky Chan, at Unit 1001 of One Rockwell East Tower. All
three (3) were plotting to spread a virulent virus in SM Megamall that is
extremely contagious and can cause people exposed to suffer from difficulty
in breathing, bleeding in the eyes and nose, rashes, coughing of blood.

Members of the Anti-Terrorist Division of the PNP conducted a surveillance

by posing as Ateneo Law Students. During their surveillance operations, they
saw Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Jacky Chan carrying coolers and test tubes from
Unit 1001 of One Rockwell East Tower to their car parked at the basement
of Power Plant Mall. They also saw them bringing gas masks, gloves, and
protective personal equipment.

The Anti-Terrorist Division of the PNP applied for a search warrant with the
Regional Trial Court of Makati for violation of the Human Security Act of
2007. They presented the audio recording, and the members of the Division
who conducted the surveillance. After hearing the testimonies of the
members of the Division and the audio recording, Judge Maximo De Leon
issued a search warrant ordering the Anti-Terrorist Division of the PNP to
search Unit 1001 of One Rockwell East Tower and seize test tubes, coolers,
chemicals, and other items that will be used to spread the virulent virus.

The Anti-Terrorist Division of the PNP raided Unit 1001 of One Rockwell East
Tower and seized test tubes, chemicals, coolers, Bunsen burners, flasks, vials
containing the virus, gas masks, gloves, and protective personal equipment.
The Anti-Terrorist Division of the PNP also found and seized 1 45. cal. pistol,
1 9mm Glock pistol, 1 M14 Carbine, and 1 M4 Super 90 shotgun. They also
seized 1 kilogram of cocaine.

After conducting inquest, the prosecutor filed 3 separate informations

charging Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Jacky Chan for violation of the Human
Security Act of 2007, illegal possession of firearms, and illegal possession of
drugs.
