SINCE 2014
OFGEN is an Africa focused Distributed Renewable Energy company
with its Head Office in Nairobi, Kenya with regional offices across the
region. The company has been in operation since 2014 with a market
focus on the Commercial and Industrial Sector (C&I). We support our
clients with their energy efficiency effort while at the same time
working with them to develop onsite captive solar power plants.

OFGEN is a growing medium size company, with a base


capitalization of USD 5.1 million, USD 6.1 million of captive solar PPA
assets under management and 9.2 MW of Solar PV + 10.3 MWh of
battery storage (the largest C&I installation in Africa) under
management. We have a further 15 MWp at various stages of
development across Africa.

PPA PORTFOLIO
MANAGEMENT TRACK RECORD

In 2017 OFGEN entered into a Joint Venture with Mettle (Renamed SPS
Investment) a Specialised Solar Energy funding company.

The JV named METTLE SOLAR OFGEN (MSO) has since 6 solar plants under
its management.

Under the JV :-
- OFGEN’s core responsibility the Engineering , Design , Construction ,
Operations and Maintenance , Billing and Collection and the overall day to
MARA SERENA - 2019 AMBOSELI - 2018 day customer management .
- Mettle’s core responsibility was to raise the required long-term capital . The
funding for the plants is a mix of Mettle’s own Equity plus Equity raised from
CDC Group UK (Renamed British International Investment).

The JV has USD 3.5 million worth of assets under management. Effective 1st
July 2022 OFGEN will transfer its shareholding in the JV to SPS Investment.
The parting of ways with SPS investment is cordial and has been necessitated
by the entry of CFAO Group as our main equity partner for all long-term
assets.
