The method that the business employ in order to help in poverty alleviation is they aim to do
their eco-ethical mission by providing training in weaving skills and financial literacy, they
creates eco-friendly and fashionable products, such as women weave multicolored
doormats,rags and rugs purses, wallets and home accessories that is made out of up-cycled
scrap materials

3. Is it possible for a business enterprise to fulfill a social function (such as help reduce
poverty) and at the same time earn profit? Explain your answer based on the business
model of Rags2Riches.

-Yes, it is possible for a business to fulfill social function because it provides a job to every
individual which is one of the reason to reduce the poverty in the society an enterprise that
has a good reputation is a factor affecting the growth of our economy because it will gain a lot
of customers that leads to earn a lot of profit

4. Do you know of any other enterprise in the Philippines that has achieved what
Rags2Riches has achieved, i.e., serve a social function and, at the same time, make
money? If so, describe that nature or operations of that enterprise.

Yes, Filipina Homebased Mom or also known as FHMoms is a social enterprise that provides
online opportunities to every filipino mother who lack of financial support, which can help
them to earn some profit that they can use in daily life even they are staying at their homes.
This enterprise aims to empower mothers so that they can balance having a career while
caring for their children full-time. Just like Rags2Riches, this enterprise also serve a social
function because they can still manage their time for their families, especially for their
children while earning some money at the same time.
