Lalit Foundation was established in the year 2008 under the flagship of Lalit Group of Companies, led by the
Founders, Shri. Zoher M. Diler and Shri. Salim M. Diler. Lalit Foundation Trust is a registered under the Bombay
Public Trust Act, 1950 and Societies Registration Act, 1860 in Mumbai. The Founders observed that a particular
section of the society mainly, the visually impaired/challenged and physically disabled, are deprived of their basic
essential needs i.e. food and clothing, hence children of such families, especially the girl child are not provided with
basic education. Meagre earnings of such families is generally washed away in health care and other unavoidable
expenses, leaving them with minimal or sometimes no resources for survival. Many a times humans with proper
eyesight, face struggles for their basic needs, and for these visually impaired basic survival is a challenge. Hence
the trust initiated the activities like distribution of monthly ration to families on every 4th Saturday of the month.

The visionaries of the Trust thought that merely by providing ration does not solve the problem, hence they took a
leap of faith and initiated programs where the visually impaired could get employments opportunities. Secondly
with the emergence of modernization and nuclear families, individuals or younger generation generally feel it's a
burden to take care of their aging parents, it more of a liability rather than a responsibility to take care of their
parents. The number of old age homes are increasing and the Founders decided to provide assistance by
supplying snacks to old age home and facilitated installation of solar panels for water heating. They personally visit
with their families and spend time with them during occasions. Education scholarships and financial assistance is
provided deserving candidates. Medical assistance is also provided to the economically weaker sections after due
verification.

Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others. Help others without any reason and give without the
expectation of receiving anything in return. Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.

Lalit Founda on on every fourth Saturday of each month

distributes groceries and essen al ra on to the visually impaired
and physically disabled persons. An iden fica on card has been
issued a er due verifica on to these persons for smooth
collec on of groceries each month during the distribu on.
Subject to the budge ng each year, new applica ons/ requests
are received by the Founda on via phone call, email or le er and
then the needy and deserving persons are registered with the
Founda on, a er due verifica on and assessment of their
documents/ iden es.

Medical Assistant

Lalit Founda on extends medical assistance to persons with

financially dificulty and rare medical condi on. Medical aid
and appropriate assistance is being provided to the poor and
needy persons, at the earliest, upon their applica ons/
requests for the same.

Educa onal Scholarship and sponsorship of fees

Various applica ons/ requests for educa onal assistance are

being received by the Founda on, and hence to provide with the
same, scholarship programmes were ini ated for the deserving
candidates. Many students have benefited with this programme
and have a ained excellence in their field of exper se. The
Founda on also offers sponsorship of fees to the needy and
desired students.

Dona ons

Lalit Founda on donates computers to visually blind to

assist them in earning their daily bread. Solar Panels have
been donated to old age home ; blankets have been
distributed in remote villages during winters etc.

The dona ons received by Lalit Founda on is channelized mainly to provide basic food items to physically
handicapped/visually disabled and specially abled children. We receive food items from several donors, which is distributed
to the paupers, street children, transgenders, deserving etc.

Contribu on/dona on are accepted in kind and/or material form as well.

Financial dona on is accepted as cheque/demand dra /purchase order in favors of “Lalit Founda on”.
All financial dona on to the Lalit Founda on trust is eligible for exemp on under 80 G of the Income Tax Act.
