SUBJECT : REQUEST FOR NOIvllNATION OF PARTICIPANTS T0 THE ONLINE


COURSE ON CREATING LED CHAMPIONS

DATE 20 SEPTEMBER 2022

The Local Government Academy, with its program to reinforce the capacities of Local
Government Units (LGUs) on local economic development, is pleased to announce the
opening of the Online Course on Creating Local Economic Development (LED)
Champions: Refocusing the Local Economy in times of Health Emergency. This course
will be offered in virtual-asynchronous mode via the LGA-LED4LGUs learning management
system (LMS) and will be complemented with live sessions from selected LED experts and
practitioners. The online course will run from the second week (W2) of October until the
second week (W2) of November 2022.

The course aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of LGU officials and LED stakeholders
about the basic concepts and tools in advancing LED. It will also allow them to reflect on the
successes of LGUs in locally implemented entrepreneurship practices. Also, as we move
through the pandemic, the course provides an overview on how LGUs assess their economic
situation and identify effective approaches in improving it. By transforming them as LED
champions, the officials and stakeholders shall be equipped with strategies in navigating a
path toward a successful and sustainable local economic recovery.

In this regard, we are requesting your level to invite and nominate participants from across
provincial, city, and municipal governments in your region. The qualified personnel to be
nominated are the following:

• Local chief Executive or Administrator


• Local Economic Development & Investment promotion officer (LEDIPO)
• Planning and Development officer
• Tourism officer
• Public Employment service officer (PESO)
• Representative of the Legislative Council (preferably from the Trade, Economic
Enterprise, Investments, or Industry related committees); and
• LGU's Business sector Representatives.

Also, DILG LED Focal Persons from both regional and provincial DILG offices are encouraged
to be nominated as well. Each region is limited to 50 nom/.nat/.ons on/y. Participation in this
course is FREE OF CHAfiGE and will surely provide participants an engaging online learning
experience in championing LED initiatives.

Kindly advise your nominated participants to register via !aE±r±s±£/Bit.!y/eLEeLci_cL2®L2L2 not later than
October 4, 2022 (Tuesday). Nominated participants will be notified regarding their
acceptance in the online course via the email address indicated in the registration form.
