1. What are the risk factors presented by the women in the Case study? Explain your answers.
- Celina is safe from any risk because she only complains about her moderate headache and
denies any possible contractions or bleeding. Patient Samantha, on the other hand, has a
number of risk factors. For starters, her blood pressure readings were 168/114Hg and 152/110
mm Hg. Second, the presence of two or more proteins in the urine indicates that this patient
has proteinuria, as determined by dipstick analysis.

3. List and describe the diagnostic criteria for the pre-eclamptic clients.
Kidney function- Serum creatinine > 1.1 mg/dl
Protein in your urine (proteinuria)
Impaired liver function- Up to 10% of pregnant women with severe preeclampsia have
impaired liver enzymes. These include increases in alanine and aspartate
aminotransferases by two to threefold.
Fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema)- Pulmonary edema is a potentially fatal condition
that is linked to pre-eclampsia. It only accounts for 0.08%. It is more commonly caused
by severe pre-eclampsia, which is associated with pulmonary edema in 2.9% of cases.
Platelet count 98,000/mm3- Pre-eclampsia is diagnosed by a platelet count of
100,000/uL. It is regarded as a sign of disease and an indication for delivery.
