GOAL

How to make 'Quote Style' / 'Bid Style' field default to 'Sealed' when creating an RFQ / Auction?

SOLUTION

There is no option in the current release, however an Enhancement Request is logged:

The following ER/Bug already exists for this issue:

Bug : 9487119 - BE ABLE TO CHANGE DEFAULT VALUE FOR QUOTE STYLE WHILE CREATING AN AUCTIO

Using personalizations it is not possible; setting the field with Initial Value 'SEALED_BIDDING' or 'Sealed' will not work.
Updating the 'Meaning' value in the FND_LOOKUPS table and bouncing the Apache will not work either.

This is the update used:

UPDATE fnd_lookups
SET MEANING = ' Sealed'
WHERE lookup_type = 'PON_BID_VISIBILITY_CODE'
AND Lookup_code = 'SEALED_BIDDING';

Because of the above limitation, an Enhancement request Bug 9487119 has been created.

Also a community ER was created for the 'Quote Style' field. Please check below:
