A. Find all the whole number solutions of the following congruence equations:
1. 3x ≡ 8 (mod 11)
The remainders for the modulo 11: {0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10}
Solution: 3(10) = 8 (mod11)
2. 2x + 3 ≡ 8 (mod 12)
It has no solution.
3. 4x + 6 ≡ 5 (mod 8)
It has no solution
B. Find the additive and multiplicative inverses if they exist’
1. 11 in modulo 9
*Additive Inverse:
Equation- 11+x=0 mod9
Solution: x=7
So, we have 11+7=18 and then 18=- mod9
*Multiplicative Inverse:
Equation- 11(x)=1 mod9
Solution: x=5
So, we have 11(5) =55 and then 66=1 mod9
2. 256 in modulo 6
*Additive Inverse:
Equation- 256+x=0 mod6
Solution: x=2
So, we have 256+2=258 and then 258=0 mod6

*Multiplicative Inverse:

It has no solution.
