Object: Technical notices : "DA Saeco Water Point 10 Cleaning and sterilizing operations"

Dear Customer / Partner,

here follows a standard procedure laid down according to the information collected from Italian
managers:

Suggested material:
Disposable latex gloves
Disposable cloths
Mild soap
Bicarbonate
Bleach, Deglister tablets or similar.
Vinegar or citric acid

Cleaning outer parts and cup holder housing.

Turn the switch (on the back of the water dispenser) to 0 (off) and disconnect the unit from the
mains. Wash with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Never use industrial,
abrasive soaps or abrasive dusts. Remove the dust (also with the vacuum cleaner) from the
condenser located at the back of the unit. For better results the use of especially designed
brushes, available on the market, is recommended. The operation should be carried out on a
monthly basis.

Cleaning inside the refrigerated compartment.

In order to prevent unpleasant smells leave an open bicarbonate box in the refrigerated
compartment. Before cleaning turn the switch (on the back of the water dispenser) to 0 (off) and
disconnect the unit from the mains. Use a hot water and bicarbonate solution - a spoonful (15 ml)
of bicarbonate in a litre (1 l) of water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Clean all the other compartment
parts including door gaskets and other plastic elements following the same procedure. Do not
wash any plastic element of the refrigerated compartment in the dishwasher.
The operation should be carried out on a monthly basis.

Cleaning the drip tray and grill

The drip tray is not equipped with a draining system. To remove stains or any water deposit, it is
necessary to empty, clean and dry the tray and its grill on a regular basis.
Clean with mild soap or put in the upper rack of the dishwasher.
The operation should be carried out on a monthly basis.

Cleaning the separator

IMPORTANT: Turn the switch (on the back of the water dispenser) to 0 (off) and disconnect the
unit from the mains.
Clean the separator with dish soap or put in the upper rack of the dishwasher.
Dry the separator thoroughly on both sides by using disposable cloths.
Reinstall the separator in the water dispenser, fixing the longest, thinnest side of the separator to
the metal coupling located at the bottom of the tank.
The operation should be carried out on a three-monthly basis.
Cleaning and sterilizing the refrigerated tank
IMPORTANT: The water tanks of the water dispenser must be cleaned and sterilized on a regular
basis in order to prevent any change in water taste and to remove mineral deposit buildups
(limescale).
Cleaning and sterilizing:
Turn the switch (on the back of the water dispenser) to 0 (off) and disconnect the unit from the
mains.

NOTE: At the first installation, skip steps from 1 to 3.

1. Empty the water tank and remove it from the water dispenser.
2. Empty the refrigerated tank (see emptying the water dispenser).
3. Reposition the silicone plug and the cap on the water drain (see emptying the water dispenser).
NOTE: DO NOT ADD BLEACH FIRST NOR PUT IT DIRECTLY INTO THE WATER DISPENSER.
Concentrated bleach may damage plastic. Add a 6% solution of bleach to the tank only
when it is completely full. You may also use pre-dosed tablets available on the market (ex.
Deglister)
4. Press the chilled water button and ambient water button until the water starts flowing from the
taps.
5. Let it act for 15-20 minutes.
6. Let the solution flow from the drain and from the taps.
7. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water (about 20 l) taking care that the water flows both from the
taps and from the drain.
8. Reposition the silicone plug and the cap on the water drain.
9. Fill the refrigerated tank again and dissolve 30 grams of bicarbonate in the water.
10. Let it act for the whole night or for at least 8 hours.
11. Let the solution flow from the drain and taps.
12. Let 4-5 litres of clean water flow taking care that it flows both from the taps and from the drain.
13. Install a fresh water tank (see water dispenser loading).
14. Sample 1 litre of water from each tap, taste it and make sure there is no smell of bleach or
bicarbonate. In case of smells, repeat steps from 6 to 8 until the smell disappears.
15. Connect the water dispenser to the mains. Turn the switch back on (on the back of the water

dispenser).
NOTE: At the first installation steps from 8 to 12 MUST be carried out.
The operation should be carried out on a three-monthly basis.

Descaling:
Mix 2 litres (2 l) of water with two quarts of vinegar or 4 litres of water (4 l) with 450 grams of citric
acid crystals.
Repeat steps 11 and 12
The frequency of descaling depends on water consumption and water quality. It should be carried
out according to the company schedule.

Gentile Cliente / Partner,

di seguito una procedura standard, redatta in base ad informazioni reperite dai gestori italiani:

Materiale consigliato:
Guanti in lattice monouso
Stracci monouso
Sapone neutro
Bicarbonato
Candeggina o pastiglie Deglister o similari.
Aceto o acido citrico

Pulizia parti esterne e vano portabicchieri.

Posizionare l'interruttore di corrente (sul retro del distributore) nella posizione O (spento) e
scollegare il distributore. Lavare con sapone neutro ed acqua. Sciacquare completamente con
acqua pulita. Non usare mai saponi industriali o abrasivi o polveri abrasive. Rimuovere o pulire
con l'aspirapolvere la polvere dal condensatore disposto sul retro dell'unità. Per un migliore
risultato, si consiglia di usare spazzole specifiche per questo scopo disponibili in commercio.
E' consigliabile prevedere tale operazione mensilmente.

Pulizia interna del vano stoccaggio non refrigerato.

In generale allo scopo di previene odori sgradevoli lasciare una scatola aperta di bicarbonato nel
vano congelatore. Prima di pulirlo posizionare l'interruttore di corrente (sul retro del distributore)
nella posizione O (spento) e scollegare il distributore. Usare una soluzione di acqua calda e
bicarbonato. Circa un cucchiaio da tavola (15 ml) bicarbonato in un litro (1 l) di acqua.
Risciacquare ed asciugare bene. Pulire le altre parti del vano incluso le guarnizioni della porta e
tutte le parti di plastica nello stesso modo. Non lavare nessun particolare in plastica del
congelatore nella lavastoviglie.
E' consigliabile prevedere tale operazione mensilmente.

Pulizia della vaschetta raccogli-gocce e griglia

la vasca raccogli gocce del distributore è priva di sistema di drenaggio. Per rimuovere chiazze o
acqua depositata, la vaschetta e la sua griglia devono essere vuotate, pulite e successivamente
asciugate regolarmente.
Pulire con sapone neutro o nel vano superiore della lavastoviglie.
E' consigliabile prevedere tale operazione mensilmente.

Pulizia del separatore

IMPORTANTE: Posizionare l'interruttore di corrente (sul retro del distributore) nella posizione O
(spento) e scollegare il distributore.
Il separatore può essere pulito con sapone da piatti ed acqua o nel vano superiore della
lavastoviglie.
Asciugare completamente il separatore su ambo i lati utilizzando stracci monouso .
Riposizionare il separatore nel distributore assicurandosi che la parte più lunga, fine ed affusolata
del separatore sia riposizionata fermamente sull'innesto di metallo sul fondo del serbatoio.
E' consigliabile prevedere tale operazione trimestralmente.

Sanificazione e pulizia della vasca refrigerata

IMPORTANTE: Periodicamente i serbatoi del distributore d'acqua devono essere igenizzati allo
scopo di prevenire alterazioni del gusto dell'acqua, nonché prevedere la rimozione dei depositi
minerali (calcare).

Sanificazione:
Posizionare l'interruttore di corrente (sul retro del distributore) nella posizione O (spento) e
scollegare il distributore dell'acqua.

NOTA: Per la prima installazione, saltare i passi da 1 a 3.

1. Vuotare il boccione d'acqua, poi rimuoverlo dal distributore.

2. Svuotare la vasca refrigerata (vedere svuotamento del distributore).
3. Riposizionare il tappino in silicone e il tappo sullo scarico delle acque (vedere svuotamento del
distributore).
NOTA: NON AGGIUNGERE CANDEGGINA PRIMA O DIRETTAMENTE NEL DISTRIBUTORE.
La candeggina concentrata può danneggiare la plastica. Mescolare la candeggina diluita al
6% avendo premura di riempire completamente la vasca refrigerata. A tale scopo si
possono utilizzare pastiglie predosate presenti in commercio. ( ex. Deglister)
4. Premere i pulsanti acqua fredda e naturale finché l'acqua inizierà a defluire dai rubinetti.
5. Lasciare agire per 15-20 minuti.
6. Far defluire la soluzione dallo scarico e dai rubinetti.
7. Sciacquare abbondantemente (circa 20l) preoccupandosi di far defluire l'acqua sia dai rubinetti
che dallo scarico.
8. Riposizionare il tappino in silicone e relativo tappo di scarico.
9. Riempire nuovamente la vasca refrigerata e far sciogliere 30gr di bicarbonato.
10. Lasciare agire per tutta la notte o per un tempo di circa 8 ore.
11. Far defluire la soluzione dallo scarico e dai rubinetti.
12. Far passare circa 4-5 litri di acqua pulita preoccupandosi di far defluire l'acqua sia dai rubinetti
che dallo scarico.
13. Installare un boccione di acqua fresca (vedere caricamento del distributore).
14. Erogare 1 litro di acqua da ogni rubinetto ed assaggiare, assicurandosi che non persistono
odori di candeggina o bicarbonato. Se il sapore persiste, ripetere i passi 6 a 8 finché il cattivo
sapore è sparito.

15. Collegare il distributore. Riaccendere l'interruttore (posto sul retro del distributore).

NOTA: Per la prima installazione è tassativo l'adempimento dei punti contrassegnati dal
numero 8 al numero 12
E' consigliabile prevedere tale operazione trimestralmente.
Decalcificazione:
Mescolare 2 litri (2l) di acqua con due quarti di aceto o mescolare quattro litri di acqua (4 l) con 450
gr di cristalli d'acido citrico.
Ripetere i punti 11 e 12 sopra descritti.
L'operazione di decalcificazione è dipendente dal consumo e dal tipo di acqua utilizzata. Eseguirla
quindi secondo programma aziendale.
