“How to write an effective resume”

Issue Trend in Job Hopping among employees

Supporting 1. Secondary data
Data
Job Hopping become the current trend among the employees. There is a lot
of research and survey that explained about this trend. As cited by Kaytie
Zimmerman in Forbes, 45% of employees plan to stay with their employer for
less than two years. From this figure, it is clearly shows that almost half of
the employees would definitely will prepare for the job change with whatever
reason in their mind.

According to Kaytie, there are several reasons why those employees have
intention to change their jobs after few years like salary, culture of work,
career development, better opportunity, changing location and others. This
situation also aligns with perceptions about jobs and finding the career that is
right for each individual.

In 2016, one of the most prevalent trend seems to centre around job
hopping, the tendency for a person to work in one location for a few months,
only to quit that job and move on to something different.

The truth of the matter is that things seem to be changing at a rapid pace
when it comes to the way people view their careers.
Perhaps this is the sole reason for the trend but it is worth exploring. Many
people that are in today’s workforce are not in the professions that they
would actually choose for themselves if they could do anything they wanted.

Recruitment agencies or Human Resources Deparment are finding more and

more that an overwhelming number of them have college degrees, thus it
becomes competitive market among job hopper. They need to be
outstanding among other job hoppers because lot of people nowadays at
least a degree holder and some of them even has master degree and PhD or
professional certificate with vast experience. Thus, what make those job
hoppers different and outstanding among other applicants?

2. Interview

We conducted an interview session with recruiter in 2 companies. Below

are the outcomes from that interview:
(1) They were aware about the job-hopping issue and the also
received a lot of application from those group and they notice
about this job-hopping trend when they go through the working
experience section in the applicants’ resume.

(2) Basically, resume act as a first phase of filtering session among

a bundle of application. Good resume actually acts as a first
impression and it helps recruiter to filter their application.

(3) However most of the applicants were failed to provide

comprehensive resume that help them to become outstanding.
Sometimes the recruiters were upset with the low quality of the
resume despite of excellent qualification and vast experience.

3. Survey

The gap Since job hopping become a trend, this will create competitive market among
the job hopper. Thus, to make them outstand in the first process of filtering,
they must have a good resume. However, some of the job-hopper not really
care about the importance of resume.

To help them, training program on how to write an effective resume need to

be develop.
