Procedure for obtaining Motorized Tricycle under ADIP Scheme Under the Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/ Fitting of Aids / Appliances (ADIP Scheme) of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), there is provision for providing Motorized tricycle to severely disabled or for Quadriplegic (SCI), persons suffering from Muscular Dystrophy, Stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Hemipeligia and any other person with similar conditions, where either three/four limbs or one half of the body are severely impaired. The extent of subsidy is Rs. 25,000/- for providing motorized tricycle to a person whose/ family monthly income is upto Rs. 15,000/-. If the monthly income is between Rs. 15,000/- and Rs. 20,000/-, then the applicant is eligible to avail 50% of the subsidy. There is no provision for providing assistance under the Scheme, if the monthly income is above Rs. 20,000/-. Under the scheme motorized tricycle is provided to a person of age of 16 years and above once in ten years, who has 80 percent or above disability and the income should be within the above mentioned limits. Persons having mental impairment shall not be eligible for Motorized Tricycle since it puts them at a risk of serious accident/physical harm. 2. The cost of Motorized tricycle manufactured by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), is Rs. 37,000/- and home delivery expenses is Rs. 5,000/-, which makes the total Rs. 42,000. Over the subsidy of Rs. 25,000/-, balance amount of Rs. 17,000/- is paid by the applicant or/ alternatively, the applicant may request the Hon’ble MLA or Hon’ble Member of. Parliament of his/her constituency for letter of consent for bearing the balance amount for Motorized Tricycle i.e. Rs. 17,000/- from the MLA Fund / MPLAD fund. 3. The following documents are required to be submitted by an applicant:- (i) Applicant’s request letter for Motorized Tricycle (ii) A copy of the disability certificate indicating the percentage of disability. (iii) Address proof: Voter Id Card or/ Ration Card / etc. (iv) Copy of Aadhar Card. (v) A copy of Income Certificate. (vi) Two photographs of the person with disability. (vii) Details of payment of additional amount as stated above. Only Aids and assistive devices are provided under the scheme and there is no provision for providing financial assistance.
