Formación del "past continuous"


El "past continuous" de cualquier verbo está compuesto de dos partes: el pasado del verbo "to
be" (was/were) y la raíz del verbo principal +ing.

SIMPLE PAST 1.

PAST CONTINUOUS 1.

Last night was hard. There was a blackout as well as a robbery. People in Smithville were upset. But
what were they doing when the lights went out? A man ____________________ (wash) the dishes while
his wife ____________________ (give) her baby a bath. A blonde woman ___________________
(wash) her clothes. Another woman ____________________ (watch) TV with her husband and their
children ____________________ (do) their homework. A young man didn't realize the lights went out

The director of the power company claims that there was a blackout because it ____________________
