Mythology is one of the 7 dimensions of religion.

Myths are holy and religious stories that are passed through
generations. Myths are sacred, due to the reason that they justify and clarify what a certain religion believes as the
ultimate nature of the divine, the universe, and mankind. Usually, the origin of myths is unknown, and usually
are traditional beliefs that correspond to actual events that are especially related to religious beliefs. In
mythology, God is said to be involved in extraordinary events during a period of time that is unspecified but
understood to transcend ordinary human existence. An example of a myth is the Genesis story. I believe in the
religion Islam, so I am a Muslim. Muslims generally do not believe in myths, as Muslims solely believe in one
God. Muslims only believe in what is revealed by the Quran, the holy book of Islam, which prevents them from
believing in myths. The common use of the term “Myth” is to describe something false. Although Muslims do
not believe in myths, there are multiple myths about them, meaning false statements about them. For instance, it
is commonly believed that in Islam women are oppressed and not given rights. This is completely false, as Islam
greatly respects and values women’s rights. In the Quran, it is clearly stated that women and men are equal to
God, and in the Quran female infanticide is forbidden. The Quran also states Muslims to educate women as
well as men and gives women the right to reject proposals. The hijab, a headscarf that women in Islam wear is
often viewed as a form of oppression towards women, but it must be acknowledged that in Islam, not only
women but men are also instructed to dress modestly. Women are not being oppressed by being instructed to
dress modestly, and men are always instructed to dress modestly. Thus, it is evident that the myth that Islam
oppresses women is entirely false.
