1. Purpose

1.1. This standard lists the approved drawing fluids that are allowed for metal processing.

2. Scope

2.1. Some drawing fluids are difficult to clean consistently and should not be used on metal inserts that
require material to be adhered to the surface (rubber, coatings, etc.). This specification lists the
materials which we have found to be easily cleaned from the surface of metal and if properly
handled, do not typically interfere with adhesion.

3. Approval Process

3.1. Similar products can be approved on new applications by submitting technical information to the
author.
3.2. Samples of the material and/or finished metal product may need to be submitted before approval is
given for certain applications or if a change in process on a current application is required to comply
with this standard.
