HOME A WIFE

Leon and his wife Maria arrived in his hometown
with Leon's wife, meeting Baldo, his brother, for
the first time. While traveling, they took an
unexpected route home for Leon. Not knowing it
was a test for his wife to see if she could endure
her fear and make sacrifices to meet her new
family.
While traveling, Leon and his wife sang "Sky Sown
with Stars" A song that Father used to sing when they
cut hays in the field at night before he went away to
study. While climbing out of the field Maria was afraid
that Leon's Father would not like her though Leon
reassured that his father is the mildest-tempered and
the gentlest man he knows.
 As they arrived home, their Mother stood in the doorway
smiling shyly. They went upstairs to greet their Father, and as
Baldo went inside his father's room he was questioned, if he met
anybody on the way. He was interoggated about Leon's wife
and asked if she was afraid of Labang and as they heard voices,
the door opened, and Leon and Maria came inside the room and
Father ordered Baldo to water Labang to talk to the couple.

In the story, Maria was tested wether she would be

able to live the same way her husband did in the
province. She was tested if she could fit in the family
or not. But with all those trials she was not afraid
and this shows how one may have to give up some
things in order to find happiness in life.
