9. CALCULATION OF MODULE MARK

Best 3 of 4 formal assessments 90
eFundi quizzes, assignments, etc. 10
Module mark 100

TAKE NOTE: ACCS 111 currently uses a continuous assessment model, so there is not a
specific exam opportunity. You write 4 formal tests, of which the best 3 count, as well as the
eFundi quizzes, ALL of which make up your module mark for ACCS 111.
10. GENERAL
a) You will write 4 formal assessments during the semester. It is important that you write
ALL of them. The best 3 will be used in the calculation of your module mark. The lowest
mark of all the formal assessments makes provision for absenteeism due to valid
reasons. If you do miss a test (for valid reasons), valid supporting (original) proof must be
provided to your lecturer. On this document, provide your name, surname, student
number and assessment that was missed.
b) After the marks for each assessment have been made available under GRADEBOOK on
eFundi, you have 5 weekdays to report any adjustments to be made to marks if
necessary, to a person(s) still to be appointed. NO adjustments will be accepted after the
5 days have passed.
c) NO requests for mark adjustments or extra assessments/assignments will be granted at
the end of the semester! You have sufficient opportunity during the semester to
achieve the required module mark!
d) Students who have been granted official class exemption must still write the formal
assessments and eFundi quizzes. If the assessment times fall within work hours, you will
need to make arrangements with your employer. (See point 9a above.)
e) You are expected to prepare in advance for each class!
f) Due to the number of students and the extent of requests, correspondence via e-mail
must be limited to the absolute minimum. Remember that the additional lecturers handle
all queries regarding practical classes and the lecturer’s assistant will attend to all queries
relating to marks. However, you must not hesitate to consult your Mrs Cornelius if you
experience any problems regarding this course. I WILL GLADLY HELP.

11. FACILITATORS & TUTORS

Please take note that facilitators and tutors are available at no extra cost. Students who
experience problems are advised to make use of these services. It is your own responsibility to
make arrangements with a facilitator/tutor. Take note that the facilitation/tutor classes will
help you to prepare for tests and exams.

You will be notified on eFundi when facilitation/tutoring is available as these students must
undergo training first.

NB: Ensure that you attend sessions regularly in order to keep up to date.

Facilitators/Tutors:
Their names and contact details will be made available on eFundi under the relevant tab.

12. EFUNDI
Make use of the eGuide on eFundi – the layout for each study unit/chapter is provided.
Ensure that you have access to eFundi – if not, please contact the eFundi department, NOT
your lecturer.

ENSURE THAT YOU ACCESS EFUNDI AT LEAST ONCE A DAY!!! No excuses will be accepted
from students who claim ignorance of announcements, etc. placed on efundi.
